Job Offer: Interpretive Guide - Student Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse 91 Old Church Road, Lower West Pubnico Job overview: The Interpretive Guide must welcome and guide visitors to the exhibitions on the external site. They must communicate tourist information to customers. The Interpretive Guide should be open and able to wear period costumes. The interpretive guides are under the supervision of the head guide and general management. Job category: Museum. Historical interpretation. General functions: • Interpret the daily life of Acadians of the past; • Welcome visitors and offer them a memorable experience; • Help plan activities related to interpretation; Requirements: • Be bilingual and be able to express yourself fluently in both official languages (French and English); • Have an interest in trades, history and heritage; • Have knowledge of Acadian history; • Have an excellent memory and strong communication skills; • Be proactive and resourceful; • Have a concern for customer service and organization; • Be polite, courteous and dynamic; • Be autonomous, comfortable in front of an audience, and creative; and • Have team spirit, and an ability to adapt to different situations. Eligibility criteria; All students must: • Be registered in the online JCT candidate bank; • Commit to working throughout the employment period; • Not have another full-time job (more than 30 hours per week) during employment.
